A friend of mine asked if I could help her pick out some
makeup from the drugstore but she only had $20.
The catch was to do it on one brand.
So I did the look and will be creating a series of $20 drug store
brands.
I have very limited experience
with this brand considering my only prior experience was with their Cover Girl Queen foundation, which I love and it has now
become my everyday foundation. I have
to say that several products surprised me.
I love the Fairytale eye shadow because it is pigmented and creamy. The Cover Girl lipstick Divine was a pleasant
shock. I love the color and the
texture. Next likes, and thumbs up from this
collection are their nail polish and mascara.
The blush is good but not something to go crazy over. However, I am not a big fan of the eyeliner. It was crazy smooth when I switched it on my
hand but when I put it on my eye lid it was not so smooth and the color payoff was fair.
For the challenge I used two coupons, funny how my love for make-up is
slowly making me a coupon clipper. I found
a coupon from the Sunday paper and one from my Style magazine. The style magazine coupon was $4 off the purchase
of 2 products and the one from the Sunday paper was $2 off one product. When combined with Walgreens BOGO I came
$1.72 over budge (not including the foundation, I already had that). Video below shows how I combined the
products to achieve the look.
