Make-up tutorial using on Ipsy "Glam Bag" products

I have been a subscriber to a monthly beauty box for about four months.   I first discover Ipsy “glam Bag” from watching YouTube, sorry I can’t remember who exactly motivated me to join the subscription service.  When doing a comparison of products, 5-6 medium priced brands in large samples size, to the $10 price of the services and I have to say it is worth it.   So here is a look I was able to put together using mostly Ipsy products.  I of course used my everyday foundation Covergirl Queen 3-n-1 and my Maybelline Fitme! powder.  Other than that, it’s all Ipsy.  I love the look and to see a video of how I achieved it check out my YouTube channel.

Products Used:
EYES

Bella Terra's Navy is a satin finish mineral eye shadow that is blue with purple flex in it.
It was applied to the outer V of my eye

NYX's Morocco eye shadow is a smokey purple eye shadow that has a metallic finish.
It was applied to the inner half of my eye and blended into the Navy

Starlooks Obsidian eyeliner is a little hard to work at first but once the kohl warms up it is really good.  I lined the upper and lower lashes giving myself a small cat eye.

Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Volumizing  Mascara is ok.  I can honestly say that there are better mascaras in the drugstore that give you volume and that last a long time.  It was nice to try a new brand but I will stick with my Almay's One Coat or my Covergirl Professional mascara.

FACE & LIPS

For the cheeks I used Benefit lip and cheek stain.  It gives you a rosy look.

Urban Decay's Revolution lipstick in 69 is amazing.  I love it so much I am really considering purchasing the regular size.    I love the matte  redish-orange look.  The lipstick is comfortable to wear and last a really long time.

Overall  I love the look and feel that it can be worn daytime or night.  If you are looking to try new makeup products on a small scale defiantly check out Ipsy.  I think you will be amazed about the quantity and quality of the products you receive for just $10.

IPSY July 2013 (Glam Bag) - Beach Beauty

IPSY, is a $10 monthly subscription service that sends its members a new Glam Bag filled with deluxe samples and full size beauty products.   Ipsy was created by Michelle Pham who is a famous makeup artist on YouTube.  She created the Glam bag so others would discover her love of makeup and beauty products.  To subscribe to the service you visit their web site and take the quiz.  It will allow them to customize your bag.   Most new subscribers go on the waiting list.  I was on the waiting list for about 3 weeks.  You will receive an email notice when you are about to move from the waiting list to a Glam Bag subscriber.   Each month you will receive a themed bag with five different products inside.   As a glam bag subscriber you can look at the archives to see the past bag themes and products offered, to me the themes are cute and quirky.   I first heard about IPSY via the YT and after viewing several video I decided to sign up.  While there are several beauty box subscription services out there, Ipsy seemed to receive the most positive comments.  So here is my first bag.  I like most of the products that I received and so far I am loving it.  I can’t wait to see what the next bag theme and products are.   To check out Ipsy visit their website at http://www.ipsy.com

Benefit's original rose-tinted stain is kiss-proof, see-through color for lips & cheeks that lasts for hours. Naturally sheer on all complexions.
How to apply: Brush three strokes on the apples of your cheeks & blend quickly with fingertip. Apply on lips & blend. For a deeper "pop" of color, repeat. To amp up the staying power of your lip color by wearing it under your favorite lipstick or lip gloss.

POP's Pouty Pop Crayon is a lip balm that is supposed to nourish and plump limps.  While I like the color Fuchsia Flirt, I didn’t notice any plumping.   The color did last several hours and I have worn it several times.  Although I like it, I don’t think I will purchase another one because I have several crayons that are lip stains that deliver the same color impact with a great feel in addition to lasting much, much longer.

This BH Cosmetics makeup palette includes a shade from each of the California Collection palettes: Hollywood, San Francisco, and Malibu.  The color of the Hollywood (purple) and the San Francisco (bronze / copper) eye shadows was really poor in quality.  Even after several swipes it had poor color payoff.  The Malibu (gold) had great color payoff and I can see myself using.  The other two eye shadows I might try over a Maybelline color tattoo in order to boost the color.

COOLA Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented Moisturizer
Is a sunscreen that is hypoallergenic, paraben-free, ultra sheer, and water resistant for 40 minutes.  I have used this product on my face before I put on makeup when I know I am going to spend a day in the sun.  It leaves a white cast on my face, so I would not use this unless I am going to put something on top of it.

Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning & Texturizing Spray is the product I gave my coworker.  I don’t see myself using this considering I am Black and I just feel it isn’t made for my ethnic hair.

That's it.  I hope you enjoyed my overview of my first Ipsy bag,  untill later...

Ciao Bella
